One of the most interesting pieces of the robotics team is the electrical engineering group, which brings together the mechanical engineering and the programming wings of the team to create a fully functioning robot. Although seldom given the credit they deserve, the grueling work of the electrical group is to properly wire all aspects of the robot, including the power source, motors, pneumatic systems, and cameras. This allows the group to gain valuable skills in the understanding of electricity and power based components, and allows them ample opportunities to troubleshoot issues that may not be visible, and to practice safety guidelines when using a power source. Furthermore, our electrical team becomes experienced at soldering and wiring, being able to interconnect an entire robot with relative ease.
